I can hear the silence
And it says cruel things
Without a single word
My heart gets its wound

Words cut deep
Silence cuts deeper
Unspoken disappointment
I just can’t take it

I can feel behind the silence
It looks down on me
It thinks I’m stupid
It thinks it’s better than me

No noise I’ve found
Can cover the dead air
It stings all the same
And deafens me still

I want out
Get me away from here
I never want to hear
Your silence again
